I opened EL DUENDE in the spring of 1998.
My intention when starting the enterprise was to supply people like
myself who have come to settle in this beautiful area of Andalucía
with lots of the things that would make their lives easier, their houses
more beautiful, their bodies healthy and their meals delicious.

...much to see
|
I cater not only for the visitors to the area and the settlers from
afar but also the local folk who love the "strange" smelling inciense or
the "extra-ordinary" pottery from the Berber and Tuareg peoples of Morocco.
Although the shop is called EL DUENDE (meaning elf, gnome or spirit) it
has always been called an "Alladin's Cave"!

Body and Mind
My own passions fall on the side of the herbs, the gardening, the cooking
and of course the Yoga.

I began Yoga seriously ten years ago and have completed a Yoga Teachers
Training Course with the YTTC in Northern Ireland
www.yogaireland.com.
My teacher was trained with Mr. Iyengar and also in the tradition of
the Bihar School of Yoga. So my training is a coming together from these
traditions: I teach here in my own Yoga studio and
a click here will take you to it.
As well I have a Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training certification and
am a (certificated) meditation teacher. I can run classes or courses at request for
guests.

Holidays in a traditional Andalucian village
The house is enormous! It rambles up and down! Upstairs I decorated
the rooms in bright, airy fashion for renting out to holiday makers, students,
or groups. I love this business as I meet so many wonderful people hopefully
including you!
See the house!

As I mentioned one of my passions is cooking.
I find the time I spend
kneading the bread becomes my meditation time, stiring the soup a time
for praying for the end to world hunger, and making cakes a time to reflect
on how lucky I am!
